I woke up on the morning of August 6th, 2022 to the sounds of a torrential down pour and thunder rumbling in the distance. It was Chelsea & Kevin’s wedding day. They were planning an outdoor wedding and the rain was coming down in sheets upon sheets. I immediately began praying that the rain would stop, but the weather report was not looking promising.

I hopped in my car and drove 60 miles to their venue. With 12 clear umbrella’s in hand, I entered the bed & breakfast where Chelsea and her bridesmaids were getting ready. I took a deep breath and was greeted by Chelsea who had the biggest smile on her face. She was SO excited it was her wedding day, that the rain storm outside didn’t seem to phase her.

We photographed her details, the dress and all the getting ready photos all while it rained and rained and rained outside. Then, it was time to move things outside. Myself and Briar (my second shooter) scouted for the perfect outdoor spot where Chelsea could have a “covered” first look with her dad and Kevin. We decided on the front porch of the bed & breakfast where there was a beautiful walkway with a large tree above it (hence, the cover we wanted). I went to grab Chelsea and Briar went to grab Kevin.

In this moment of time, the rain suddenly stopped. IT STOPPED!

From that point on until their first dance later that evening, the rain held off. It was a miracle.

We were able to do all of the photos outside on the beautiful grounds of the The Round Barn Farm and had some fun with those umbrellas I hauled along.

It was the perfect day. The sunflowers and greenery by Clementine Flowers were bright and beautiful & was just the touch of “sun” that we needed.
