Hey there!
I'm Markina (Mar-Key-Na) and I am a passionate photographer who loves capturing the beauty in everyday moments. When I’m not out shooting, I’m spending time with my favorite people—my husband of 14 years and our 10-year-old son, Max. We bought our house 5 years ago and it sits on 7-acres in the country and it's our peaceful retreat. (I especially love our front porch)
Family means the world to me, and when I am not out at a photography shoot, you can usually find us at Timberwolves or Twins games or hanging out with friends at the local brewery. We’re always up for new adventures, whether it’s exploring a fun new place or simply spending time together.
I’m also a big fan of cooking—there’s nothing I love more than making a delicious meal, especially when it’s Mexican food (add a margarita, and I’m in heaven!). Life is all about the moments we share with the people we love, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to share those moments with my family, friends, and all the wonderful people I photograph.

I don’t even need to tell you how passionate I am about what I do; you’ll be able to see it when the camera is in my hand. And when I get *the shot* everyone knows it – think happy dancing, squealing, and lots of jumping!

You can trust me – not only to deliver, but with all of your pre-session questions or worries. I do my best to make sure that every single person in front of my camera is feeling comfortable, and most importantly, is having a great time.

I capture moments both big and small, as they are. NO trendy filters here. In 20 years, your pictures won’t feel outdated. You’ll be able to look at them and be transported back in time!
I LOVE love, and I’m a mom and wife myself, so I know first hand how great it feels to freeze time with a photograph. I know how important it is to capture every milestone, big or small, which is why weddings, couples, and family portraits are my thing.
Meeting new people, learning about their lives, and hearing their stories lights me up. I’m passionate about making sure that my clients not only feel at ease in front of the camera, but that they have FUN.
That moment when a client’s photographs are delivered and they shed a happy tear? It’ll NEVER get old.
I’m a big believer in living life to the fullest – but still slowing down to enjoy the little moments. Which is why I always say that I was put on this earth to be a photographer! I get to be present for some of your most exciting times, and capture the little moments that make it so magical.
