Hey  there! 

 I'm Markina (Mar-Key-Na)  and I am a passionate photographer who loves capturing the beauty in everyday moments. When I’m not out shooting,  I’m spending time with my favorite people—my husband of 15 years and our 11-year-old son, Max. We live on nearly 8 acres of country land and my summer evenings are spent sitting on my front porch watching my kid shoot hoops. 

Family means the world to me, and when I am not out at a photography shoot, you can usually find us at Timberwolves or Twins games or hanging out with friends. We’re always up for new adventures, whether it’s exploring a fun new place or simply spending time together.

I’m also a big fan of cooking—there’s nothing I love more than making a delicious meal, especially when it’s Mexican food (add a margarita, and I’m in heaven!). Life is all about the moments we share with the people we love, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to share those moments with my family, friends, and all the wonderful people I photograph.

A few fun facts about Markina.......

+ Prefers hot coffee, no ice please.

+ Obsessed with music - loves to sing, loves to always listen to music - loves to go to concerts!

+ Not a big fan of peanut butter, but loves peanut M&M's

+ My brother & sister also are photographers (it clearly runs in the fam!)

+ My husband and I met in 2007 on a dating website (this was before smartphones and dating apps!)

+ Loves Mexican food more than anything! Seriously, so good.

+ Loves her golden retriever (Jake) and her Calico cat (Trixie)

+ Always up for grabbing a bite to eat from a food truck or dive bar

+ Max is our 11 year old son who is our entire world. We love to take him to Timberwolves/Twins games and go fishing. And of course, we are his #1 fan when he's playing basketball or baseball or football. He's a busy kid. :)
